3D Printed Christmas Head Ornament

A playful Christmas project: 3D scanning my own head and turning it into a custom ornament for family and friends. Using iPhone FaceID Lidar and ScandyPro for scanning, Blender for mesh cleanup, and a 3D printer for the final product, I created a unique holiday gift that combined technology and creativity.
From Scan to Ornament
This project started as a fun idea for a Christmas gift: why not put my own head on the tree? After experimenting with several scanning apps, ScandyPro proved to be the best option, it uses the iPhone's FaceID Lidar sensor for surprisingly detailed scans. The raw point cloud needed significant cleanup in Blender—filling holes, smoothing surfaces, and making the model printable. After a test print and design tweaks, the final ornaments were ready to surprise my family. The process was a great mix of digital tinkering, hands-on making and I kinda love the idea of everybody having a mini me on their tree.
